We are a small privately run, homely nursery, registered for 48 children from the age of 3 months until they are ready to leave for school.

At Western Elms Nursery we expect our staff team to provide a safe, caring, happy and stimulating environment, where children are offered activities to enhance their development.

We strongly believe that all children are individuals who develop skills at different stages. Staff should have a clear understanding of this and of the EYFS framework. Planned activities of each child should be purposeful and exciting, aiming to meet their developmental needs. This should be done through observation, planning and assessment as well as through in the moment shared sustained thinking which cannot be planned for.

An ongoing tracking system is in place and should be kept up to date by the key person and shared with the parents on a regular basis.

This helps us to create close yet professional parent partner relationships.

We encourage staff to enhance their experiences through training.

We operate 3 base rooms which are as follows

• • Bumblebees (accommodates children under 24 months of age)
  • Ladybirds (accommodates children from 24 months to 36 months)
  • Grasshoppers (accommodates children from 3 years to school age)
